Morris+Company’s plans for a 52-story residential skyscraper in London’s Canary Wharf, featuring castellated façade panels, have been recommended for approval, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reports. The 174-m tower, which goes before Tower Hamlets Council’s planning committee soon, is set to contain 424 homes, with 30% affordable by habitable room, as well as ground-floor shops, cycle storage and gym space. The scheme also includes a new public park, which will cover around half of the rectangular 0.44-ha site. EPR Architects has also applied for a 48-story building, featuring 1,068 student homes, on a neighboring site at 30 Marsh Wall. Tower Hamlets is due to rule on this planning application later in 2022.
