Florida A17.3-2015 Code to Include Elevator Door Lock Monitoring

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) recently updated Florida A17.3-2015 building code to retroactively include requirement 3.10.12, which states that the condition and position of elevator cab door locks must be monitored to prevent an elevator from operating when doors are open, TK Elevator (TKE) was among entities to report recently. The update affects more than 80,000 elevators across Florida, and these elevators must comply with 3.10.12 by December 31, 2023. Companies, including TKE, can help modernize systems to be in compliance with the new elevator door lock monitoring regulations.
