KONE to Equip First Phase of Metro 10 in Zhengzhou, China

KONE has won an order to supply units for the first phase the Metro 10 line in Zhengzhou, China, the company announced on June 30. The system, a suite of People Flow® solutions, will include 153 escalators, 34 elevators and four autowalks, the company announced. The first phase of the Zhangzhou line starts from Zhengzhou West Railway Station and extends 21.6 km to Zhengzhou Railway Station. The full line will have a total length of 42 km consisting of 22 stations. Residing in the Henan Province, this metro line will impact city expansion, further optimizing the layout of urban functional spaces and improving the rail transit network of Zhengzhou’s new western city. KONE will deliver seven MiniSpace™ elevators, 27 MonoSpace® elevators, 153 TransitMaster™ escalators, and four TransitMaster™ horizontal autowalks. In addition, the contract includes two years of standard maintenance. The metro line is being developed and contracted by Zhengzhou Metro Group Co. Ltd. The leading architects are Electrification Design Institute Branch of China Railway Sixth Survey and Design Institute Group Co. Ltd. The project is expected to be fully complete in late 2022.
