Vantage Provides New HW Machines for L.A. Project

Vantage Elevator Solutions West provided five new Hollister-Whitney (HW) GLV-40D1 gearless machines for Total Access Elevator, a large independent serving the greater Los Angeles area, for a major modernization project in downtown L.A., Vantage West Regional Sales Manager Mark Ortiz tells ELEVATOR WORLD. Ortiz worked with Total Access CEO Doug Young on the project. “[Young’s] No. 1 concern was getting the right equipment and the best quality for this particular customer,” Ortiz says. “They wanted to partner with a company with high-quality, long-lasting machines and turned to us for the job.” The project includes double-wrapped, 1:1 gearless, 42.5-hp elevators traveling at 7,000 ft/min with 5000-lb capacity. With six, 5/8-in. cables, the elevators have 200 ft of rise. Both Vantage West and Total Access Elevator are headquartered in Santa Fe Springs in Los Angeles County.
