Varso Tower, designed by U.K.-based Foster + Partners for developer HB Reavis in the city center of Warsaw, Poland, is complete, outlets including Architects’ Journal report. At 310 m and 53 stories, the office property is the tallest building in the European Union (EU), eclipsing previous tallest Commerzbank Tower in Frankfurt, Germany, by 50 m. Varso’s vertical-transportation system was provided by Schindler, and it was one of the first skyscrapers — along with Uptown Tower in Dubai and Trlllple in Vienna, Austria — in the world to use Schindler’s elevator installation robot R.I.S.E. Offices are served by two banks of double-deck elevators, each car serving two floors at once. A public viewing platform at the top of the tower is accessed via two panoramic lifts.
