South Korea’s Hyundai Elevator launched its advanced elevator maintenance service Miri at its smart campus in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, on May 30, The Korea Herald reports. Hyundai Elevator CEO Cho Jae-cheon addressed a crowd of approximately 400 employees during the event, which included an introduction to the service, robot delivery demonstrations and hands-on experience areas. A national project of the Korea Industrial Technology Evaluation and Management Agency, Miri is powered by Hyundai Elevator technology developed over 33 months in collaboration with industry, academia and research institutions. Miri can reduce equipment downtime by up to 43%. For residential elevators, Miri Call can integrate with AI assistant systems such as Siri, further reducing wait times and enhancing convenience. “Miri View, based on image analysis and voice-recognition technology, ensures passenger safety by immediately notifying administrators or customer service centers in case of emergencies or abnormal situations,” the source observes.
