India’s Mumbai Metro Line 3 is set to revolutionize urban transportation by ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey for differently abled passengers, Financial Express reports. The upcoming stations will feature a range of facilities designed to enhance accessibility and safety for all commuters. The elevators will be equipped with braille call buttons and have handrails or grab rails on three sides for additional support. A comprehensive audio and visual announcement system will keep passengers informed about upcoming stops and important information. Emergency buttons and telephones will be readily accessible. Additionally, the elevators will be fitted with rubber kick rails to protect wheelchairs from damage, and the width of the elevator blocks will be sufficient to allow easy access for wheelchairs. All elevator buttons will be installed at a low level, making them accessible to passengers in wheelchairs and those of shorter stature.
