On December 7, 2024, the nonprofit WheeLog organization and Fujitec’s Technology Research Department, which conducts technological research on elevators, hosted an online discussion called “The Wheelchair Users X Fujitec Staff’s Discussion in 2024.” The online discussion was held as part of the research of universal designs and focused on the use of mirrors, the position of buttons, the method of using a door-open holding button and other issues. Various perspectives, such as a person who has used a wheelchair for three years along with those who have used one for more than 30 years, as well as people suffering from different physical conditions, were considered, with ideas focusing a wide range of topics. In early 2024, Fujitec signed a sponsorship deal with WheeLog, a nonprofit organization working toward a world where wheelchair users can “make their dreams true.”
