Ae’o, a 40-story residential tower being developed by The Howard Hughes Corp. in Honolulu’s Kaka’ako neighborhood, boasts a design by Seattle’s Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (BCJ) inspired by Hawaii’s natural beauty, Architect’s Newspaper reported. Scheduled for completion in 2018, the property’s 466 units, seventh-floor amenity level and sky terrace are configured to make the most of ocean and mountain views, and its glass façade has 3D “wings” to represent wind-swept waves. Ae’o will sit atop a podium containing a Whole Foods Market and is part of the larger, 3.6-acre Ward Village development.
