Mobilizers Wanted

VDMA campaign focused on the industry is launched.

At its general assembly, the industry association VDMA Lifts and Escalators (Aufzüge und Fahrtreppen), based in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, announced that the elevator industry’s image campaign “Mobilizers wanted” was launched on October 9. The campaign aims to strengthen the perception of the elevator, escalator and components industry and to present its range of future-proof prospects for young people and career changers.

The ads will be played out on social media, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The campaign website under the motto “Future-proof jobs in the elevator industry” is also live at beweger-gesucht.de. Campaign sponsors, along with information about these companies, are also shown there with their logos. After searching by location, occupational field and company, interested parties are re-directed to the company’s careers page.

Elevators are indispensable in everyday life around the world:

• Cities are growing upwards and are attracting residents.
• Society is becoming ever older.

For this reason, the elevator industry offers young people future-proof prospects with great career opportunities.

Presentation of the Campaign

The initiative is aimed at strengthening public awareness of the industry. The advantages for young people and career changers are also emphasized. Among other things, future and “crisis-proof,” innovative technology, a wide range of career opportunities and attractive remunerations are highlighted in the campaign slogan:

“Thanks to me, the future is moving upwards.”

The elevator and escalator industry in Germany is future-proof and crisis-proof, as elevators and escalators are installed in most new buildings and also require continuous servicing, modernization and observation.

“To step up: Please board”

The elevator industry offers interesting development and career opportunities for various professional groups. A steep career path to managerial positions is common after education as a mechatronics technician and also for fitters.

“I take care of the smart in smart cities”

The industry is always at the cutting edge when it comes to intelligent technical and climate-neutral developments. Digitalization, smart cities, smart living and the Internet of Things (IoT) are all used in this industry.
