KONE Acquires Las Vegas Service/Repair Business
KONE has acquired the service and repair business of Suburban Elevator Co. of Las Vegas, which operates throughout the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area. Executive Vice President for KONE Americas Larry Wash stated the acquisition adds depth and talent to KONE’s service and repair business in Las Vegas, a key market for the company.
Brooklyn Company Acquired by LiFTCORE of Germany
U-Tek Elevator, Inc., founded in Brooklyn, New York, in 2011, has been acquired by LiFTCORE GmbH of Germany. U-Tek has 26 employees and is focused on the sales, installation and maintenance of traction elevators throughout the New York City area. Andreas Hoennige, CEO of LiFTCORE, told ELEVATOR WORLD U-Tek will retain its name for the time being but transition to LiFTCORE. The plan is to move U-Tek to larger premises within one year, Hoennige said.
Houston Company Announces German Partnership
Rack-and-pinion specialist Century Elevators of Houston announced during the Bauma trade show in Munich in mid April that it has partnered with Böcker, a German-based manufacturer of aerial work platforms, cranes and industrial lifts, American Cranes & Transport reported. Describing Böcker as an industry pioneer well-equipped to serve the U.S. market, Century Vice President and General Manager Paula Manning said the partnership will help Century “intensify and diversify” its U.S. presence. The news follows Century’s recent announcement that it acquired exclusive rights to sell PEGA elevators in 32 U.S. states.
