Aegean Elevator and Escalator Industrialists Association (EAYSAD) members held their well-attended traditional breakfast on October 2, 2021, which had been put under a lengthy postponement due to the pandemic.

Sabih Haliloğlu, president of the 55th Professional Committee of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO), Councilors M. Nihat Dirin and Amaç Sarıgülü, Aegean Chamber of Industry (EBSO) Professional Committee member Cüneyt Temel, and Nuray Eyigele from Efor Fuarcılık attended the meeting held after the breakfast.

The meeting opened with an opening speech given by EAYSAD Chairman Mert Öğüşlü. Öğüşlü talked about the impacts of the pandemic on our lives, presented the activity report on the operations of the association and gave detailed information about the initiatives and solutions for sectoral problems.

IZTO Professional Committee President Haliloğlu took the floor in line with the meeting agenda. He stated that the Professional Committee will work in cooperation with EAYSAD and will take necessary initiatives by also addressing the problems of the elevator industry.

Then, EBSO’s 49th Professional Committee Member Temel took the floor and said that the Aegean industry should have a global perspective and a corporate identity, and explained the importance of branding with some cases.

Eyigele from Efor Fuarcılık said the Inelex International Elevator and Elevator Technologies Fair, which was cancelled because of the pandemic last year, will be held jointly with the Izmir Elevator Symposium next year. She said that they are working on the exhibition actively, thanked EAYSAD members for their support and said that they will need the support of the industry in the coming days more than ever.

Mustafa Mıhçılar, who represented the association at the meeting on product safety and development, conveyed the meeting notes to the participants. He also said that both EBSO and IZTO Professional Committees demand a product safety test center in Izmir similar to the one in Bursa.

EAYSAD Technical Committee Member Halim Akışın presented the draft regulations and notifications sent by the Ministries with the opinions of the association. He also shared the initiatives regarding the technical problems faced by the members and the developments on the relevant regulation items.

At the Q&A session, some of the issues faced by the members were discussed. Some of the activities of the association on professional and current issues were briefly discussed, in addition to the opinions and suggestions of the members about the expectations from the association and the problems they experienced.
