Appointments at EFESME, Alimak, thyssenkrupp Elevator and VFA

Bezzi Named EFESME President
The European Federation for Elevator Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (EFESME) has appointed a new board of directors. Massimo Bezzi was unanimously appointed president. Bezzi has been involved in the federation since its establishment and served as its vice president since 2008. EFESME added he “is deeply involved at the national, European and international levels, being a board member of ANACAM (Italian elevator association) and Elevator World, Inc.” He is also EFESME’s representative in the General Assembly of Small Business Standards. He will continue overseeing the EFESME treasury, a role he has covered since June 2017.
Former President Marcel Boutillier has been appointed vice president, and Luciano Faletto has been reconfirmed as secretary general. EFESME extends its thanks Ralph Kanzler for the support given during his vice presidency.
Lindquist Appointed Alimak Group CFO
Tobias Lindquist has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO) of Alimak Group and a member of its management team, effective, at the latest, September 1. He currently is CFO at international education company English First (EF) and has been based in China for the past 10 years. Prior to that, he held various positions at EF, 3IC Inc. and Ericsson. He holds BA degrees from Stockholm and Middlesex universities. Interim CFO Stefan Rinaldo (ELEVATOR WORLD, November 2017) will remain on as chief operational officer. Lindquist stated:
“I am happy to join Alimak Group and feel strongly about the company’s commitment to enhancing customer safety, productivity and profitability. I am looking forward to contributing my experiences to the company’s interesting journey ahead.”
thyssenkrupp Elevator Names Cesarz CEO of MULTI
thyssenkrupp Elevator has named Michael Cesarz, an architect with extensive experience in the Middle East, Turkey and Europe, CEO of MULTI, which will now be considered a separate business unit. Cesarz designed structures such as Meydan Mall in Istanbul and The Edge office building in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In Dubai, Cesarz designed more than 20 subsidiaries of the Majid Al Futtaim shopping-mall chain, of which he was CEO, throughout the Middle East. Prior to this, he oversaw the real-estate business unit and asset management for METRO Group, based in Dusseldorf, Germany. In addition to his architectural expertise, Cesarz is considered a specialist in development, project management and business operations.
Adldinger Joins VFA
VFA-Interlift e.V. of Germany has acquired the services of Wolfgang Adldinger, a specialist with many years of experience working in national and European committees and advisory bodies. Adldinger’s role is to intensify collaboration with national and international associations and institutions. As a freelancer, he will represent VFA members’ interests in Germany and Brussels, Belgium, coordinating the flow of information between the association’s diverse areas, as well as providing support to the VFA team.
Following many years of collaboration with the European Lift Association, EU-NB-L and CEN, Adldinger was most recently responsible for the area of lifts and standards with the Wittur group of companies, between 1994 and 2017. He is also a well-known speaker and author in the European industry. VFA called him “the ideal person to increase and enhance VFA’s representation of its members,” which include more than 230 small and medium-sized enterprises.
