Schindler to Provide 207 Units in Indonesia
Building on its relationship with PT Trans Property and PT Trans Retail Indonesia, PT Berca Schindler Lifts has been selected to provide 207 elevators, escalators and moving walks to the Transpark mixed-use developments in Indonesia under four separate contracts. Consisting of four projects — Transpark Cibubur, Transpark Bekasi, Transpart Bintaro and Trans Studio Bali — the developments “aim to reinvent the traditional shopping experience by breaking the mold of the traditional retail mall and creating a four-in-one living concept.” Including high-rise towers, the properties will have restaurants, stores, hotels and theme-park areas, all accessible to public transportation.
Frankfurt Landmark With Schindler Elevators Nears Completion
Omniturm, a 45-story mixed-use building with a shifting floorplate design by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and a Schindler elevator system, was nearly complete in the central business district (CBD) of Frankfurt, Germany, designboom reported in August. The lower part of Omniturm houses more than 475,000 sq. ft. of office space in a “slender and rational stack,” with the floorplates then spiraling outward to house 88,200 sq. ft. of residential space. At the top, the structure returns to a simple block design. Also including 18,000 sq. ft. of publicly accessible areas, the project is being developed by Tishman Speyer and targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.
