Middle East office of Spain-headquartered Fermator hosts meeting prior to Asansör İstanbul.
In a meeting held at its Middle East office prior to Asansör İstanbul 2023, Fermator announced that all negative effects coinciding with the COVID pandemic, as well as the destruction of its factory in Falset, Spain, due to a snowstorm, were eliminated, and the preceding year was again concluded with production and sales numbers above pre-pandemic situation.
The COVID pandemic that broke out in 2020 affected our sector negatively as it affected producers and sectors all around the world and led to disruptions in production, supply and distribution. As a global lift door producer, Fermator was affected by these negative conditions at its factories in different countries and at different times. In a period when efforts were made to eliminate these negative conditions with precautions and measures taken, Fermator had to deal with a second major issue in the first days of 2022 due to the strongest snowstorm that has occurred in Spain in the last 60 years, leading to the destruction of its factory in Falset, Spain. However, thanks to the immediate actions of management and fast reaction of the whole Group, the factory was rebuilt from scratch and started production within one year.
Conventional meeting before the exhibition
The organization was held on 8 March 2023 at Acıbadem Akasya Kent Kule with the participation of 30 guests from Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Italy. The meeting started with the presentation of Fermator Middle East Regional Manager and host Murat Camgöz, who shared significant information on Fermator’s structure and production strategy across the world. Camgöz explained with figures that all negative effects of the pandemic were eliminated, and sales numbers rose above the pre-pandemic period in 2022. Camgöz said, “We achieved these wonderful results together, owing not only to you, our guests coming from the Middle East, but also to all business partners throughout the world for the trust in and support of the Fermator brand and production potential.” He honored the guests by completing his words, saying, “We are expressing our gratitude to you in this regard.” He also added that Fermator’s Middle East office would always serve as the co-working space for all business partners, who could use it as their own when they come to Turkey for any reason, and that Fermator would be glad to accommodate them.
Afterwards, Fermator Global Sales Director Eduard Amigó summarized the last two years and explained how the figures continuously increased despite the disaster in 2021, resulting from not only the production potential and organizational success, but also the warm relationship established with distributors and partners across the world and exactly transmitted to final customers through a long process built upon this great relationship network over the years, with continuous efforts of the whole team and partners. He stated that Fermator Group’s most valued asset is its human resources, while both physical and heartfelt efforts of all partners, as well as synergy created with an amateur spirit by professional teams, was better understood to be the greatest driving force in the post-pandemic period. He expressed his thanks to all participants, informing them that factories worked overtime and at full capacity with this driving force.
After Fermator’s presentations, Amigó gave the floor to Massimo Santambrogio, CEO of Italian engine producer of Sicor, another brand of the Group, as is the custom in conventional Fermator Group meetings held days before each Asansör İstanbul Exhibition. Pointing out that capacity was reached very quickly following the pandemic, Santambrogio expressed his appreciation in taking part in this meeting together with the many regular guests of the Group. He explained the details of the new packaging system that Sicor put into practice last year. He added that Sicor assured all final customers of the total quality of purchased machines in the production-transportation-delivery processes, received highly satisfied responses for the system, which was initiated in the sector for the first time, and has been working with all its strength to maintain its technological leadership in all aspects.
After the meeting, the Fermator team brought all guests to Kalamış Develi Restaurant by private shuttles for a dinner gathering where pleasant moments were shared, including delicacies from the rich Turkish cuisine.
