SSP: Hybon Elevators and Escalators Pvt. Ltd. recently began elevating luxury in Chandigarh. What was the rationale behind this step? Do you have more such announcements in the pipeline?
RS: Hybon Elevators and Escalators expanded to Chandigarh due to strong infrastructure growth in the tri-city region (Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula). The decision was backed by existing projects, such as a large-scale project with the TDI Group involving nearly 100 units. This move aligns with our commitment to elevating luxury and convenience. We have upcoming ventures in the pipeline in Dehradun and Jaipur, proving our commitment to meeting market requirements.
SSP: The Lift Tales by Hybon (webisode series) delves into the fascinating world of Vastu, seamlessly integrating elevators into modern design. What was the genesis of this crisp and concise format? What has been the response so far?
RS: We started The Lift Tales by Hybon to answer people’s questions about how lifts work and if they’re safe. The short and simple format makes it easy for everyone to understand. We also talk about how Vastu blends with modern design, keeping things interesting. The aim is to help people decide when they’re buying a lift. People like the clear and helpful approach, finding the episodes useful for understanding and making decisions.
SSP: Hybon’s space-saving “The 7 Zero” home lift blends seamlessly into a home’s interior design. Describe its attributes and benefits and what sets this offering apart. How do you see demand for this product going forward?
RS: The 7 Zero stands out for its effortless installation, fitting smoothly into existing bungalows, independent houses and villas. Its pit-less design eliminates the need for extensive civil work, sparing homeowners the hassle of pit excavation. Built on a standard machine-room-less platform, it operates on electric traction technology, ensuring efficiency and incorporating essential safety features. With an aging population seeking convenient vertical mobility, the demand for products like The 7 Zero is steadily increasing thanks to its simplicity and adaptability to diverse home settings.

SSP: What are the key demand drivers for elevators and escalators in the present scenario? Which segments are witnessing maximum demand and why?
RS: Traditionally, elevator demand is driven by safety, service and ride quality. Over the last decade, the introduction of designer and luxury elevators by Hybon has added to these demand drivers. Escalating infrastructure growth in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors further propels elevator demand across the board. As buildings multiply, the need for elevators increases, making them a crucial component in today’s fast-growing urban and industrial landscape.
SSP: How do you see demand for vertical transportation (VT) evolving in 2024? Will aspects like integration, access and safety become even more significant?
RS: In 2024, VT demand will grow in accordance with residential, commercial and industrial expansion. Smart building trends drive elevator innovation, making them smarter to seamlessly integrate with Building Management Systems.
