Your author, Elevator World, Inc. president, and T.Bruce MacKinnon, EW executive vice president, had the opportunity in December 2010 to take a quick visit to the Atlanta offices of The National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) while some of its officers were in town for a meeting. It had been several years since I had visited the association’s headquarters in Conyers, Georgia, and the event was the first for MacKinnon. It was a great opportunity to see the seven NAEC staff members in one place.

New NAEC President Rick Kennedy, Vice President Greg Carlisle, Treasurer John Curzon and Executive Director Teresa Witham made the group at home with discussions on how the two organizations could better support one another, while taking advantage of opportunities and challenges together in the future. The time flew by, as did great ideas on both sides.
