GAL Names Curzon Vice President of Marketing & Sales

John Curzon of Southampton, U.K., has been named vice president of Marketing & Sales for the Bronx, New York-based GAL Manufacturing Corp. group of companies, it announced in July. Curzon, who has more than 25 years of experience in the vertical-transportation industry, has provided what GAL called “innovative market-driven engineering solutions” to it over several years, a factor that led to his new position. The company said Curzon will have a key role in GAL’s growth by providing “strategic direction to [its] business development initiatives across North America.”

GAL CEO Mark Boelhouwer welcomed Curzon, saying, “John was the obvious choice for us when we looked to fill this role,” citing his “marketing expertise and dedicated strategic perspective.” Curzon spent more than 20 years in senior management at Airdri Ltd., where he launched and served as president of the North American sales and logistics entity Formula Systems in Chicago. Since 2013, he has been CEO and director of the Ensota group of companies (U.K. and Asia), a key supply partner to major elevator OEMs worldwide, including GAL and Hollister-Whitney Elevator Corp. He has also been a longstanding advisor to the National Association of Elevator Contractors, serving on several key committees, and, in 2008, became the first non-North American member elected to the association’s board of directors.
