Used in conjunction with the GALaxy controller, Spectral-Lite is a push-button lamping system that eliminates the need to physically alter button illumination.

GAL Manufacturing Corp.’s Spectral-Lite is a push-button lamping system used in conjunction with the company’s GALaxy controller. Through the GALaxy controller and GAL’s ColorSwitch technology, a client can instantly change the color and intensity of car and hall push-buttons in the field. The technology eliminates the need to physically replace lamps to change the color of button illumination.

Button caps are fabricated of solid metal and incorporate vibrant LED illumination. Movable contacts are comprised of phosphor bronze with silver plating and are self cleaning/wiping. Tactile Braille is recess mounted and mechanically secured to the cover plate. Braille is cast in metal with characters in contrast to the background. In addition to providing a distinctive architectural detail, Spectral-Lites are suitable for installations that must visually designate operations, such as “on,” “off,” “secured,” “hospital emergency” or “attendant annunciation.” GAL’s lamps offer seven pre-selectable colors, with the complete spectrum of the color field available in conjunction with the GALaxy controller.

When paired with the GALaxy control system, fixtures are available with serial communication to the car station and closed-loop serial communication to hall stations, with ribbon connections from the buttons to the board in the car-operating panel (COP). Communication between the control and hall buttons are self diagnostic and capable of identifying failed modules or connections. In the event of a failed button, only the problem component is rendered inoperable, preventing the loss of any other portion of the hall push-button riser. Serial hall communication is self addressing and does not require the use of dual in-line package switches. Prewired and tested by GAL, with 10-12 wires for a standard COP and 28 in the standard traveling cable, the system is designed to reduce installation wiring time and eliminate mistakes.
