Hitachi Elevator has supplied nearly 7,000 elevators and escalators in metro stations in 22 major Chinese cities. This new line will run across Kunming, as well as to Chenggong New District. Hitachi stated it has been committed to developing products and solutions to enhance public transportation services and improve quality of life.
China Head Shares “Smart” Elevator Strategies
Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. President Yuhui Jia gave a speech at the 2019 Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center in Yunnan Province in May titled, “Hitachi, With 100-Year History, Partners With Tencent Welink to Promote Development of the Smart Building Sector.” Followed by a question-and-answer session, the speech included digitized construction of cities, new technology such as Internet of Things, cloud computing, energy management and building information modeling.
Jia also shared how Hitachi provides mobility solutions based on the fact elevators are closely connected with public- transportation systems. In a building’s smart “ecosystem,” elevators are connected to other systems such as access-control and gate systems, cameras and delivery/security robots. Tencent is a Chinese multinational conglomerate focusing on Internet- related services and will work with Hitachi to supply transportation solutions to Lingang Group’s Hero Land development in northwest Shanghai.
