Rasmussen Joins SnapCab

SnapCab has hired industry veteran Sherri Rasmussen as an interior specialist for the company’s Central Sales Region. In an October announcement, it noted Rasmussen has more than 28 years of manufacturing and sales experience in the elevator industry. Prior to joining SnapCab, she worked for thyssenkrupp, Otis, Day Elevator, Courion and MEI. Her new position will allow SnapCab to support its customers in the growing Central Sales Region, which covers the central part of the U.S., from the Midwest to parts of the South, the Northern Plains and the Pacific Northwest. Rasmussen holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University.

Gallo Retires From Sierra

Albert P. “Al” Gallo announced his retirement from Manhasset, New York-based vertical-transportation consultancy Sierra Consulting Group in October. He has been with Sierra as a principal since 2004, overseeing field operations, personnel and technical affairs (including accounting, payroll, inspections and day-to-day operations), in addition to customer relations and new business development. Over his career, he worked at Millar Elevator Industries, Inc., in New York.; United Elevator Consultants, Inc.; George Murray & Associates, Inc.; and, more recently, GMA Consulting, Inc., where he also served as principal. He is accredited as a certified NYC Private Elevator Inspection Agency director and inspector and QEI, and is certified and licensed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Sierra President Joseph Caracappa wished Gallo well, adding:

“Over the last 14 years, Sierra has built a very strong team made up of 22 very hardworking and dedicated people [who] will continue to move our company forward. As the founding member of Sierra, I will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations.”
