Schindler’s mid-rise bundle, hydraulic parts and an emergency-power “black box” are featured this month.
Schindler Launches Modernization Package in U.S.
Schindler has announced the launch of its 6400 NA model, a modernization package specifically designed to enable mid-rise buildings to upgrade their existing elevators. Focusing on reliability, efficiency and sustainability with minimal downtime and shortened lead times, the package features an integrated family of products to streamline the modernization process. Each component is designed with the flexibility to adapt to the needs of any mid-rise building:
Schindler Miconic TX controllers for traffic handling
Optional PORT technology to further reduce time to destination, and offer personalized service and access-control features
The Schindler FMM 200 modular gearless machine, specifically designed to be used in existing machine rooms, featuring a compact design and minimum dimensions that allow the parts to fit through standard machine-room doors and be assembled in the machine room.
Power Factor 1 regenerative drives with a power factor of .99. They are designed to return energy to a building’s electrical grid, instead of wasting it as heat, helping building owners and managers reach enhanced sustainability goals.
Schindler Suspension Traction Media, which replaces conventional steel cables, offering three times the service life and requiring a significantly smaller sheave for maximum space savings in compact machine rooms
Schindler Varidor 50A closed-loop, linear door operators for smooth, safe, reliable door operation
Schindler Remote Monitoring, a proactive maintenance tool, monitors the upgraded system 24/7 and helps return equipment to service up to 22% faster than traditional troubleshooting methods.
MBV with Metering, Shutoff
HAM-LET’s metering ball valve (MBV) incorporates both metering and shutoff functions in one unit, has been patented in the U.S. and has won HAM-LET recognition for innovative technology. The product series combines an accurate micrometer control mechanism for gases and liquids with a sealing mechanism in a single unit. Designed to be easy to install and not require multiple connectors and pipelines, it can reduce the length of the line in the system.
The MBV series is a single unit that replaces two separate valves and is offered with a choice of three precision stem tapers, enabling metering at flow precise capacities. It also offers five different O-ring materials to provide proper temperature and chemical coverage, specifically important for analytical-instrumentation industries.
Valve Modernization Kit
Maxton Manufacturing Co. has released its RV100 Conversion Kit as a solution for CemcoLift with RV100 valves, which are otherwise unsupported. Built around the Maxton EMV10 residential/limited-use, limited-application electronic valve, the kit offers installers a bolt-in replacement plate and preprogrammed valve with all plumbing and electrical hookups in place. Neither measuring, reconfiguring nor fabrication is required.
Automated Backup Power for Elevator Evacuation
Power Systems International Ltd. has introduced the Series 3 Evacuation Lift Power System (ELPS), a “black box” that delivers power to a dedicated elevator during emergencies when normal elevator operations have ceased. Series 3 ELPS features a trio of power circuits — two internal and one external — that feed either a variable voltage variable frequency hoisting elevator system or the pump motor and electronics of a hydraulic system. It is available in three kilovolt-amp sizes, all with 400-V, three-phase, 50-Hz input and output, and meets most traction-elevator capacity requirements and hydraulic-elevator capacity up to 1600 kg. According to Power Systems International, a main driver of development of the latest ELPS was a European Union initiative to improve evacuation options for handicapped individuals, particularly in public facilities such as airports.
