Omarlift Turkey Launches New Hydraulic Pump

Italy-based maker of elevator systems unveils smart pump unit during event at its Ankara factory.

Approximately 50 guests attended an August 5 product launch for the Smart Hydraulic Pump Unit with Electronic Valve at the Omarlift factory, which opened in 2019 in Ankara’s Temelli Başkent Organized Industrial Zone, along with its Turkey headquarters in Istanbul.

Bünyamin Kocabey, during a speech to open the occasion, thanked the guests for their contributions during the pandemic. Next, Marketing Manager Massimiliano Celcarano and Giulia Azzimonti of Italy gave a detailed presentation about the new product, noting that the Hydraulic Pump Unit with Electronic Valve can automatically calculate deceleration distance and stopping, independently of load and temperature conditions, through its self-learning mode.

The unit, which has a control panel interface with CANopen, is certified as UCM/A3, which prevents involuntary car movement. It is also completely programmable by smartphone through the “Omarlift Hevos” app.

Following the technical presentation, Omarlift owner Alessandro Mordini, through a recorded video, gave some information about the history of the company. He stated that the name Omarlift is actually based on the abbreviation of the Italian initials of

“Officine Meccaniche Auto Ricambi,” which means, “Automotive Spare Parts Workshop,” indicating that the company’s operations were actually based on the automotive industry.

He also stated that, after 30 years, Omarlift now operates in five continents and offers service to 350 clients, having produced some 9,000 cylinders, 9,000 pump units and about 11,000 valves of various models.

Guests were treated to lunch at the factory, followed by a tour of the facility during which they were given the opportunity to closely examine Omarlift products. Mordini, via videoconference, greeted the guests one by one and conveyed his thanks.
