Russian Elevator Week, which had to be held at another hall due the impacts of the pandemic in recent months, achieved to attract the visitors to the event despite fewer exhibitors.
The 10th Russian Elevator Week event was held at VDNH on June 1-3, 2021. The event, which was previously held at pavilion number 75, was held at pavilions 55 and 57 in a change made in April this year. Very few foreign and Turkish exhibitors were able to attend the fair this year, due to COVID-19 and the restrictions imposed by the Russian Federation on some countries, especially Turkey.
Organizer VDNH and the National Elevator Union were glad to organize the 10th fair despite the all difficulties experienced in 2021. The fair, which was held on a total area of 7 thousand square meters at the pavilions 55 and 57, was visited by 3 thousand 600 people, mostly from the Russian Federation. As in previous years, various Russian aviation and space vehicles exhibited at the open area outside the fairground attracted the attention of the visitors.
The visitors of the Russian Elevator Week had a chance to see and examine the latest elevator models and innovative developments during the three days. Moslift introduced its smart panoramic elevator cabin with a UV circulator that can optionally change its optical properties. Shcherbinsky Elevator exhibited its new, easy-to-install machine-room-less elevator at its booth. Germany-based Wittur took part at the event with its complete elevator systems for the Russian market.
Presentations of the Participants Attracted Attention
During the forums held simultaneously with the fair, the participants made presentations on titles like “Vertical Transport Industry and Accessibility in Russia,” “Current Occupational Safety Requirements in Elevator Installation and Maintenance” and “Competition in Vertical Transport Industry in Russian Federation.”
As in previous years, a professional jury awarded the candidates in ten categories. Moslift received six awards in six categories, while Mogievlift won the Best Elevator award.
Few Turkish Companies Participated Due to Travel Restrictions
Although 20 Turkish companies took part in the event last year, many companies had to cancel their participation to the event because of the pandemic and the travel restrictions announced by the Russian Federation in May and extended to June. Therefore, only the companies like Arkel, Genemek, Özbeşler and Prolift, operating in the Russian market currently, opened booths at the event.
