Special Marine Lifts

ICM Lift Components, based in Trento, in the northern part of Italy, had years of experience in the elevator industry — particularly in the residential sector — when in 2005 it launched its Marine Division. Today, ICM actively operates across the globe, manufacturing tailor-made products for magnificent megayachts.

ICM Lift Marine invests in research and innovation to create customized products and specific solutions. Company engineers and technicians work with the production team on each project, from beginning to end.

Today, ICM Lift Marine activity is well-supported through a partnership with Bertazzoni Lift Marine, another Italian company focused on the maintenance and installation of elevators on luxury yachts.

“This partnership started through ANACAM, the Italian trade association representing the elevator sector, which both companies be¬long to,” explains Massimo Bezzi, president and CEO of ICM. The relationship between ICM and Bertazzoni is based on mutual professional respect and the realization that both have, over the course of their 35-year histories, built complementary skillsets that, when combined, ensure superior service.

The jump to providing lifts for luxury megayachts occurred spontaneously. The first installed unit was a dumbwaiter, which was soon followed by the manufacturing of custom elevators. ICM Lift Marine’s first luxury lift was for a Tuscany-based shipyard: a local interior designer had seen a round ICM platform developed for a store and was inspired to install one in the center of a spiral staircase aboard a 60-m megayacht under construction. It was likely one of the first round lifts ever installed aboard such a vessel.

ICM and Bertazzoni have always operated in the leading nautical hubs, and today are working worldwide. With more than 300 units installed in yachts, the companies’ customers are in the U.A.E., U.S., Turkey, Northern Europe and Southeast Asia.

ICM Lift Marine’s organization is based on a team of engineers and skilled people with experience in the specific sector. A guiding principle for the company is that suiting a client’s requirements is foremost in this niche market, where products are always bespoke-engineered.

When working on 60-m-plus megayachts, everything is about custom details. This setting has led ICM Lift Marine, in collaboration with Bertazzoni, to experiment, research and patent solutions and finishes of the highest standard. The partnership works alongside the architects and designers in this specific sector to provide high-tech solutions for the different needs, matching with the available space and integrating with the general arrangement and design of the yachts.

With Bertazzoni, the different components are assembled to the customers’ full satisfaction. Circular, oval and regular shapes are offered, and there are no limits to the finishes or the styling and engineering solutions the companies can provide. Innovative engineering has included lifts that rise through a coffee table, a sun bed on the sundeck or that have rotating platforms with exits on opposite sides. These installations represent the flexibility of these companies.

ICM Lift Marine provides its solutions in compliance with applicable codes in the sector and/or with EN requirements. Today, the fire-rated solutions are available in the company’s catalog.
