Hello to everyone,
Thanks to new information about the sector, we come across a new topic every day. We are tired of fighting so many wrongdoings that we are unable to prevent. The old and well-known lift companies in our country have been unable to get any business, and even the sales figures have been seriously reduced due to the cost of the proper material, compared to the cheap products of their competitors.
In order to prevent these problems, serious criteria should be introduced for opening new companies. The situation has come to a boil in cities smaller than Istanbul. The commercial etiquette of the past has been replaced by companies acting like hyenas, trying to tear each other apart.
For example, there are criteria for opening a workplace based on population in many professions. Furthermore, this is even the case for lifts in Germany. Companies can only be established when the population is above a certain threshold and in accordance with certain criteria. But as we said, “The genie is out of the bottle!” From now on, I don’t think anyone will even contemplate honest competition or the criteria in Türkiye.
Have you noticed? In these days, when real inflation has reached three-digit figures and the prices of construction items have skyrocketed, the only product that has decreased in price, let alone increasing in price due to ridiculous competition: lifts! Then, we say to ourselves that we are not able to make money. And there are always the same examples: he bought it for that much. This one got the job for that price. Isn’t it normal? In the future, you and I will also do the same to survive.
The sector is about to turn into a garbage dump. There are nonsensical products being sold on Facebook, and there are people who demand them. The new trend is products dismantled from the earthquake zone. Don’t buy them, folks! Please do not be a participant in the theft! Do not buy and use products that cannot be tracked (delivery note, invoice, warranty status).
The most important products of lifts — machines, panels and ropes — are sold second-hand, almost as if they were auctioned off. Moreover, the thing that makes me laugh the most is that a 2003 model equipment is advertised as “brand new.” There are pictures of the equipment, and its condition is obvious. These products, which should be scrapped, will hurt you both financially and morally in your next business.
The equipment and ropes determine the operational life of your lift. The longer you want it to last, the more money you will have to invest. We see the situation of the machines and the lifts, which will only save the day and are sold with the logic of “if it works for two years (during the warranty), it is good enough for me.” Unfortunately, these lifts require an overhaul even before their third year of operation. However, since the companies that undertake the overhaul are not the ones that do the installation, it leads to a case of the blind leading the blind.
We have reached a point where we are constantly depleting. We depleted our old companies; we depleted making lifts with the finest products; moreover, we depleted each other …
I would like to express my condolences to my former colleague from Wittur, Mr. Koray Koç, who passed away on June 16, 2023, at the age of 41, from a heart attack … I wish him Allah’s mercy and extend my thoughts to his relatives … It was a very sad day.
Regards.
