Turkish and Arab Businesspeople Meet at TURAB Expo

Turkish-and-Arab-Businesspeople-Meet-at-TURAB-Expo

At the 16th Turkish-Arab Cooperation Summit held on January 27-28, 2022, at Pullman Istanbul Hotel and Convention Center, the Turkish-Arab Countries Business Association (TÜRAP) and TURAB Expo brought thousands of investors from 22 Arab countries and seven Turkic Republics together with real estate companies in Turkey.

Organized with the support of Turkish-Arab Countries Business Association, the fair has been held in Istanbul with one-day delay due to heavy snow. The 7th Construction-Building Materials and Technologies, as well as Interior Design, Furniture Expo and the 4th Real Estate, Project, Investment and Finance Expo, were held simultaneously within TURAB Expo, which is organized to create projects between Turkey and Arab countries, to bring Turkish and Arab businesspeople together, to visit Arab countries and to bring Turkish and Arab businesspeople together, both in Turkey and abroad.

Seven companies from elevator sector open booths

Both local and international exhibitors opened booths to present their products and to meet the buyers. Ah&Met Asansör, Akfalift Asansör, Genemek, Kepi Asansör, Merih Asansör, Özdoğru Mihendislik and Stof Asansör attended the fair, which attracts increasing interest in the elevator industry. In all, 242 local and national exhibitors opened booths at the fair, and meetings were held with the international buyers.

“We are glad because of our brand recognition in Arab countries”

Kemal Uyumaz, Sales Manager from Konya-based Ah&Met Asansör, said, “The event is sensibly and beautifully planned. The companies that want to make purchases from Arab countries and Turkic Republics are brought together with the Turkish vendors. This year, the participation was low, as the flights were cancelled due to the weather conditions, but we still had the opportunity to meet and talk with the existing exhibitors. As the visitors were from construction companies, we do not work with them directly, but we are glad because of our brand recognition in those countries.”

“Nonetheless, the exhibition was a success”

Hüseyin Delil, brand management specialist from Mars Elevator — a company that regularly attends the fair on an annual basis, every year — said, “It is an important event where Turkish and Arab companies had the opportunity to get to know each other better. The event was well-attended despite unfavorable weather conditions that caused one-day delay. We were glad to offer products of Mars Elevator, which exports to 75 countries all around the world, to the visitors from various countries. Visitors from Algeria, Jordan, Libya, Iraq, Palestine and Kazakhstan were highly interested in our booth. In addition to exhibitors and visitors from abroad, foreign managers of the international companies in Turkey, and visitors working in construction sectors, were amongst the participants of the event. It was a successful event despite the impacts of the pandemic and unfavorable weather conditions in Istanbul. We are happy to explain and promote our brand to the citizens of other countries.”

TÜRAP also mediates the sales of houses constructed by the exhibitor companies to Arab countries through its organization that covers 19 Arab nations.  TÜRAP Chairman Sabuti Attar, Ambassador of Palestine to Ankara Dr. Faed Mustafa, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Vise Chairman Dr. İsrafil Kuralay and many citizens attended the exhibition. Following the opening speech, TÜRAP Chairman Sabuti Attar presented a plaque to Vice Minister Sezai Uçarmak.

Attar explained that TÜRAP organizes this event in order to strengthen the relations with Arab countries and to increase the number of partnerships between two countries. He further said, “Our attempts are beyond this exhibition. We focus on how to strengthen our relations with Arab countries and how they increase our trade and partnerships.”
