Legion Property Group, headquartered in Southport, Gold Coast, Australia, has filed a development application for a pair of 31- and 26-story residential towers on Chevron Island, an urban island in the Nerang River that is part of the Surfers Paradise suburb of Australia’s Gold Coast, The Urban Developer reports. Designed by Plus Architecture, the development known as Si Bon on Chevron would include 277 apartments of various sizes, a work-from-home space and amenities such as a recreation deck with pools, barbecue facilities, a gym and a lounge. Parking for 318 cars on two podium and three basement levels is also planned. The developer told the source it bought out 20 apartment owners of a four-story building, with plans for a new tower growing steadily taller and larger than the original, 15-story apartment building. Anticipating possible height restrictions on Chevron Island, applications for at least 12 new towers have been filed over the past year.
