Alimak Group Commits to Science Based Targets Initiative

Sweden-headquartered Alimak Group announced on May 7 it has committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and will set greenhouse gas (GHG) emission-reduction targets aligned with the Paris Agreement. “SBTi is the next logical step for the Group, and it underscores our ongoing efforts to decrease our environmental impact and drive positive change across our value chain,” observed Alimak Group CEO Ole Kristian Jødahl. Alimak Group said it has made significant progress toward establishing a solid emissions baseline through extensive analysis of both direct emissions and those associated with the value chain. This has enabled the company to implement tangible improvements, with ongoing initiatives to drive further progress. A collaboration among the Carbon Disclosure Project, the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute and the World Wide Fund for Nature, the SBTi helps companies set ambitious, science-based GHG emission-reduction goals.
