Alimak Group Initiates Strategic Review Of Wind Division

Alimak Group has launched its board and group management to initiate a review of the company’s Wind division in an effort to explore alternatives, including a potential divestment, the company announced on February 9. In 2020, Alimak launched its “New Heights” program, a strategic initiative to capture the full value potential and to evaluate the rationale, the required resources and the long-term prospects and position of each of the company’s four divisions (Construction, Industrial, Faҫade Access and Wind). Alimak’s commitment has been to ensure improved profitability and, in 2022, the company is focusing on executing the New Heights program: profitable growth. Alimak’s ambition is to identify market opportunities, growth enhancing and value-creative initiatives. To optimize shareholder value, the company board has approved a review of Wind to explore future strategic alternatives for the division, including a potential divestment. The Wind division, under the brand Avanti, was acquired by Alimak in 2017. Avanti is a global leader in providing access solutions for wind towers worldwide, including service elevators and repair training. More than 40,000 service lifts have been installed globally. The strategic review will be conducted this year, though there is no certainty that the review will result in any changes for Avanti. Industrial elevator maker Alimak Group, based in Stockholm, Sweden, has a global presence of 10 offices in eight countries. Alimak has installed approximately 70,000 elevators, hoists, platforms, service lifts and building maintenance units around the world, mainly for construction and commercial work sites.
