Aritec New Materials Group Announces Ziehl-Abegg Collaboration
Luzern, Switzerland-headquartered Aritec New Materials Group AG on February 12 announced a collaboration with Ziehl-Abegg SE, the Germany-based global electric elevator motor specialist, that entails Ziehl-Abegg including Aritec’s ARIBELT elevator belt in its motor systems. Hailed as the industry’s inaugural aramid-reinforced elevator belt, ARIBELT is poised to set new benchmarks in safety, efficiency and sustainability, Aritec observes. Teijin Aramid, a global leader in aramid fiber with its headquarters located in the Netherlands, played a key role by providing the Technora® fibers for ARIBELT, “ensuring unparalleled strength and durability.” ARIBELT is the first TÜV-certified synthetic cord traction solution on the market. It offers a minimum breaking load of 43 kN and 18 million bends. It is also 40% lighter than comparable steel belts. “Our collaboration with Aritec and Ziehl-Abegg represents the latest evolution in high-performance fiber applications for the elevator market,” Dimitri van Schaik, vice president, Industrial Market, at Teijin Aramid, said. “By incorporating our aramid fibers, elevator systems become lighter and smaller, leading to substantial energy and space savings.”
