Auckland Residential Skyscraper Pacifica is Complete

Construction on the Pacifica, a hotel and residential skyscraper in Auckland, is complete, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH)reported on September 28. The tower is the second-tallest building in New Zealand and the design is inspired by traditional Maori symbols and includes a glass façade that is supposed to mirror the harbor and Auckland’s laneways. The building has 273 apartments, with those on the upper levels featuring enclosed garden balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows. A “super penthouse” occupies the 53rd and 54th floors of the Pacifica and is the country’s most expensive home, with a price tag of US$24.8 million. Amenities available to all residents include lounges, a lap pool, sauna, steam room, spa, gym, media room, library and barbecue terrace. According to CTBUH, KONE provided the tower’s elevator system.
