A man in an apartment block in the city of Krasnodar, Russia, recently had a close call with an elevator, The Irish Mirror reports. CCTV footage shows the man entering a lift while looking at his phone. The doors begin to close around him, and he is able to block either side initially before having to dive backward as the elevator shoots up. Residents in the block said the lift had been “shaking” in the weeks before the incident, local Russian news site 93.ru reported, according to the source. Russia has a reputation for poor safety standards, with the country plagued by crumbling infrastructure and outdated Soviet-era apartment blocks.
