Construction Begins on AUD190-Million Melbourne Tower

130 Little Collins, designed by Cox Architecture and developed by Golden Age Group

Construction has begun on a 27-story tower at 130 Little Collins, Melbourne, Architecture AU reports. Designed by Cox Architecture, the AUD190-million (US$142-million) structure will include column-free office floorplates from the second to the 27th floor, with a wraparound garden terrace on the eighth floor and a rooftop garden. The tower will also include a first-class lounge with private showers, lockers and a waiting lounge. The project is aiming for a five-star Green Star Design and As-Built and WELL certifications. “The typical commercial building has been turned on its head; we’re witnessing a preference toward more boutique floorplans as a result of businesses scaling down their requirements for an office, coupled with something that greater emphasizes lifestyle and well-being,” said Jeff Xu, managing director of developer Golden Age Group.
