Construction Begins on Tokyo Project
Construction on the Meiji Yasuda Seimei Shinjuku Building project in Tokyo began in early August, according to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. The building, designed by Nikken Sekkei, will deliver about 100,000 m2 on a 6,295-m2 site. The building will have 23 floors at 129 meters and will house offices, retail, childcare facilities and parking. The exterior will feature a curtain wall, and a permeable atrium space will connect the ground level and basement level. Setbacks on three sides will provide open spaces. The existing building at 9-1-12 Nishi-Shinjuku 1 adjacent to the station square at the west exit of Shinjuku Station was demolished. Construction is set for completion in November 2025.
