The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has announced its 2023-24 Mass Timber Student Design Competition, with US$15,000 in total prizes for winning submissions. The competition is open to all students who are currently enrolled at U.S. and Canada-based educational institutions, and the submission portal will open in March. Emphasizing rapid development, the competition focuses on the use of mass timber in multistory buildings through the lens of affordable housing. Submissions will be accepted through noon, Central Time, on August 5. Those who know a talented student with a promising project are encouraged to share competition details with them. Questions may be directed to email.
