A redesign and the pandemic are among factors delaying completion of a Foot Overbridge (FoB) served by six vertical-transportation (VT) units — four escalators and two lifts — near the elevated corridor of the Metro — in Ahmedabad in western India, The Times of India reports. Work on what will be the city’s first circular FoB was supposed to take six months and conclude in September 2019, but is still underway. Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority is executing the work, which involved having to redraw plans due to underground utility lines. The source observed that, with a new contractor stepping in, the project is expected to take approximately one year.
