Developer Proposes High-Rise, Mixed-Use Tower for Raleigh
Capital City Urban Development is seeking permission from the city of Raleigh, North Carolina, to rezone several acres of land downtown, CBS17 is among outlets to report. Developer Robert Ferris will request that a 7-acre parcel of land at the end of Kindley Street, which is currently zoned to allow buildings up to 20 stories high, be rezoned to allow buildings up to 40 stories high. Documents show plans for a mixed-use development that could house as many as 2,776 apartment units. The planning commission recommends approval and has set requirements of the developer including pedestrian access and easements. City council is tasked with setting a public hearing for the case, which will likely take place on July 5 if further review is not required.
