A plan for a dual-tower residential project in Homebush, west of the Sydney CBD, is being resubmitted, The Urban Developer reports. Planned for a 3.5-ha site at 12-14 Birnie Avenue, the development would bring 420 apartments to the two 27-story towers that include four levels of basement car parking. Each tower will offer resident access to a rooftop recreation deck with gardens, plus communal gardens on the fifth level. The buildings will total 10,800 m2 of gross floor space. Also planned is 20,700 m2 of commercial development, but construction won’t start until the residential project is complete. Chinese-backed developer Shanghai Lihua Australia anticipates approval in time to launch construction before the end of the year, with completion expected in 2023.
