Niculae

Element Elevators Inc., headquartered in Richmond Hill, Canada, named Dan Niculae vice president of engineering. With 27 years of engineering experience, including 16 in the elevator industry, Niculae has assumed engineering and operational responsibilities alongside Vice President of Operations Bogdan Rus, Rus tells ELEVATOR WORLD. Holding a BS in electrical engineering and an MS in thermal and electrical power plants, Niculae began his career as a project manager and senior researcher at the National Research and Development Institute for Energy in Bucharest, Romania. After holding management jobs in manufacturing, Niculae became a field supervisor and engineer in Schindler’s modernization department in the mid-2000s through 2014, at which point he went to work for KONE as new installation/modernization supervisor. He then returned to Schindler in roles including chief engineer of major projects, where he supported the elevator modernization at Scotia Plaza in downtown Toronto, an EW 2022 Project of the Year. This job, Niculae noted, involved a total of 14 Swiss FM710 and FM560 machines being installed for the first time. Rus said Element views adding Niculae to the team as “a huge stepping stone toward its goal of national expansion.”
