Elevator Falls Five Floors with Student Trapped Inside in NYC

An elevator in Brookdale Residence Hall of Yeshiva University in NYC fell five floors with a female Brookdale resident trapped inside on April 11, the student newspaper The Commentator reports. The student was stuck inside the elevator for about 45 min as the elevator fell from the fifth floor to the basement, then rose to the first floor and fell again, becoming stuck between the basement and first floor. After unsuccessfully attempting to rescue the student, security called the New York Fire Department, which was able to free her. This follows a series of elevator issues on both Yeshiva campuses.
