Escalator Installed To Curb Trespassing at Western India Rail Station

Central Railway (CR) has opened an escalator at the Diva East railway station in Thane, Maharashtra, in the western peninsular region of India, Republic World is among outlets to report. The escalator is intended to prevent trespassing at a crossing that has created delays and even been the scene of fatalities. Another escalator is being set up at Platforms 1 and 2 to enhance accessibility. Urging the public to use escalators, CR issued a reminder that “trespassing is dangerous and punishable under the Railway Act of 1989.”
