Türkiye’s Machinery Exporters’ Association (MAİB), established in 2002 to bring machine exporters together under one umbrella with more than 26,000 member firms across Türkiye, elected its new executive board at the general assembly on April 16. Following Kutlu Karavelioğlu, who stepped down after two terms as MAİB president to take up presidency of the Turkish Machinery Federation, Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz was elected as president and new chair of the Board of Directors. As the fifth president in the association’s history, Yılmaz observed that the sector’s international brand strength and reputation were the result of a longstanding collective effort and a strategic roadmap, stating: “Our sector’s capacity for global representation has reached very advanced stages. We will continue to implement steps to further consolidate our sector’s international standing with the same collective wisdom and determination.”
