Fatal Freight Elevator Accident in South Korea

A man in his 50s was killed after being trapped in a freight elevator while repairing it at a building Chuksan-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, on November 25, The Chosun Daily reports. The repairman, identified only as Mr. A, was transported by fire authorities to a nearby hospital, where he died. He was affiliated with an elevator maintenance company and was reportedly working alone when the accident occurred. Police are interviewing witnesses and others to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
