Japanese vertical-transportation (VT) OEM Fujitec Co., Ltd., has signed a Silver Sponsor agreement with WheeLog, a nonprofit dedicated to achieving “a world in which anyone can go anywhere.” Among WheeLog’s initiatives is the WheeLog! app that provides a user-generated VT accessibility map. During a recent interview with the Fujitec communications publication USNET, WeeLog President Yuriko Oda emphasized the importance of maintaining and managing reliable elevators for people who struggle with mobility. Fujitec is exploring ways in which it can partner with WheeLog to eliminate environmental and information barriers for those with mobility issues. Going forward, Fujitec will help conduct research on elevators from the perspective of wheelchair users and provide information for the WheeLog! accessibility app.
