Fujitec Co., Ltd. announced on March 3 completion of its new quality lab, Wisdom Square, at company headquarters in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The 1,000-m2 facility is equipped with various pieces of vertical-transportation (VT) equipment for testing and evaluation purposes: 11 elevators and one escalator. Named Wisdom Square to reflect its purpose as a place where quality specialists can gather, share knowledge and “create new value with the promise of high quality,” the facility includes a six-story office building and an 11-story, 60-m test tower. Previously, Fujitec conducted quality evaluation as part of product development. With Wisdom Square, quality-focused tests will be carried out to strengthen quality control, increase performance and enhance reliability of Fujitec products. The company will also develop and verify installation methods to achieve more efficient installation in the field. Wisdom Square will begin operation in phases starting in April.
