PT Fujitec Indonesia, a group company of Fujitec Co., Ltd., delivered 19 modernized elevators to the 48-story Wisma 46 office building in central Jakarta, Fujitec announced in October. Shaped like a fountain pen and built in 1996, Wisma 46 is one of Jakarta’s most iconic office buildings. Fujitec, which was the first Japanese vertical-transportation (VT) company to expand overseas in the 1960s, provided the tower’s original VT system. Modernized to maintain safety and enhance functionality, Wisma 46’s elevators are Fujitec Indonesia’s first to include the EZSHUTTLE destination-dispatch system, which assigns elevator cars to passengers automatically based on their destination floors. The company’s many high-rise and largescale projects delivered in Indonesia in the 1980s and 1990s are now up for modernization.
