Established in 1972 as Fujitec Group’s third overseas subsidiary, Fujitec Singapore celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 2 at a gala event attended by approximately 750 guests at its headquarters at Bedok South Avenue in Singapore. Fujitec Singapore covers the Japanese-based OEM’s South Asia segment, consisting of Southeast Asia and India. Fujitec Singapore used the occasion to reflect on milestones including delivering a total of 20,000 units to Singapore’s Housing & Development Board; in 1986, providing high-speed elevators for One Raffles Place, at the time the tallest building in Asia at 280 m; and, in 2019, opening the Experience Centre, an HR facility to step up training for field engineers. It is currently handling a modernization project at One Raffles Place including 19 elevators (six traveling at 480 m/min) that is scheduled for completion in 2023. Fujitec Singapore said it aims to continue to lead the South Asia market through a focus on HR development and digital technology, adding that projects like the One Raffles Place modernization promise to “lead to the expansion of Fujitec’s aftermarket business on a global scale.”
