Genesis Elevator to Finish Home Elevator for Disabled Georgia Boy

Genesis Elevator and Restoration Consulting are nearing completion on a three-story home elevator in Woodstock, Georgia, CBS46 reported on August 11. The elevator is a gift to a couple in Woodstock for their disabled son, who was born with a rare genetic disorder called CDKL5 and cannot speak, walk or eat, and suffers from daily seizures. Two years ago, neighbors and the family raised money for a home elevator, but the installation stopped after the boy’s chair wouldn’t fit inside the shaft. The couple filed a lawsuit against a home elevator company and an individual, who they say kept $16,000 for an elevator they never received. Genesis Elevator made the donation and Restoration Atlanta widened the original shaft by 2 ft.
