Hyundai Elevator Launches In-House Choir Team in Seoul

Hyundai Elevator has launched the Seoul team of Orak Choir, its in-house choir for workers with disabilities, the Seoul Economic Daily reports. Hyundai Elevator plans to operate the choir on a dual basis in Seoul and Chungju, South Korea. The number of members has grown to about 50, combining the existing Chungju team with about 20 newly selected Seoul team members. The choir will perform mainly in its respective home regions but will share the stage at large-scale events and national competitions. For the choir, Hyundai Group has prepared a large rehearsal room for group practice, small rehearsal rooms for part-by-part practice and individual training, a dedicated locker room and a meeting room, as well as "H-Harmony," a multipurpose lounge for communication and exchange between group affiliate employees and choir members. The choir was founded in March 2024 to create jobs for people with disabilities and promote culture and the arts. Eight months after its founding, it won the silver prize at the "32nd National Choir Competition for People with Disabilities."
